The goal of the Jalya is to provide  social, educational and charitable services to its community and would work with the Virginia Jalya , which is an older establishment the has a broader Sudanese demographic.

Mission Statement 

The Sudanese community "Jalya" in Maryland is an independent organization that works alongside  other Sudanese organizations and communities to utilize the effort and abilities of its members to provide services in culture, social, charitable work and entertainment. The Jalya pays special attention to its youth and draws inspiration from their talent, thoughts, technological knowledge and work experiences to strengthen their bonds with the motherland Sudan and educate them about its history, culture and heritage and help shape and contribute to the betterment of our future Sudan.


Additionally the Jalya strives to reflect the glorious and prideful aspects of our country, Sudan, via all possible mediums available to its members to strengthen the bonds and extend friendship between all Sudanese and other communities or Jalyat within the metropolitan DC area.
